Authorship Criteria
IJEISE adheres to the authorship standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, specifically tailored for engineering and science research. Authorship is reserved for individuals who take public responsibility for the research, rather than just participating in its execution.
Author Qualifications
- To be designated as an author, an individual must fulfill these four essential requirements:
- Contributed significantly to the research concept and structural design, or the collection, analysis, and evaluation of engineering data;
- Wrote the initial draft or conducted critical revisions concerning vital intellectual content;
- Gave final approval for the manuscript's publication; and
- Assumed full responsibility for the overall integrity and accuracy of the published work.
Non-Author Contributions
Individuals whose involvement was limited to securing funding, providing general oversight, offering administrative or linguistic assistance, or facilitating data access do not qualify as authors. Such contributors should be recognized in the Acknowledgements section, provided they give their explicit consent.
Role of the Corresponding Author
The corresponding author acts as the primary contact with IJEISE, verifying that all co-authors have reviewed and endorsed the final submission. They also guarantee the accuracy and completeness of the author list. Furthermore, we highly encourage all contributing authors to supply their ORCID iDs.
Modifying Authorship
The sequence and inclusion of authors must be finalized prior to submission. Should any changes (additions, deletions, or reordering) be necessary post-submission, the corresponding author must submit a formal written justification. This request must be signed by all original authors, including those being removed. Post-acceptance changes are strictly prohibited unless granted special approval by the Editor-in-Chief.
Prohibited Practices
Ghost, guest, and gift authorship are strictly forbidden. Additionally, Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems cannot be credited as authors, as they lack the capacity to bear responsibility for research outcomes. Any application of AI technologies must be transparently declared in accordance with IJEISE’s AI Writing and Plagiarism Detection Policy.
Authorship Disputes
Any conflicts regarding authorship must be settled internally by the researchers and their affiliated academic institutions. IJEISE will suspend the manuscript's evaluation process and adhere to COPE protocols during this time; the editorial board will not act as an arbitrator in such disputes.
